Aidtree’s Internet Start-up Platform Working with Orange County High School Football Teams
Orange County, September 14, 2018 – Aidtree today announced that it had signed the La Habra and Sonora high school football teams to its digital community fundraising platform. The signing of these nonprofit organizations serves to strengthen Aidtree’s ties within the community and will provide much needed assistance to these local football teams. While these teams have long been rivals they will now be working together to raise money for their students through the Aidtree platform. With costs in excess of $2,000 for each high school football player this is a partnership that promises to revolutionize how high school sports teams raise money for their players.
Founded with the assistance of the CSUF Startup Incubator, Aidtree’s mission is to “Change the concept of giving”. Ben Yip, the founder of Aidtree, explained that Aidtree works by “Empowering supporters of any nonprofit to invite their contacts online to save money at local businesses on their Aidtree Business Coupon Directory (ABCD). Our slogan, ‘Save Money, Succeed Locally’ is something that will resonate with the supporters of these football teams and, if things go well, many more nonprofits in the future.”
Aidtree packages promotions from local businesses and sells them to supporters of local causes. These money saving coupons can be purchased in two ways. One is a pay-as-you-go method, where each coupon is purchased and redeemed. The next is a subscription method, where the supporter pays $5 every month and gets to use all the coupons that cost $5 or less, making up the difference if the coupon is more. Of the sales, 75% of every transaction is sent to the cause of the supporter’s choosing.
Yip considers this process revolutionary as it removes the discomfort of selling items and asking for funds. Businesses promote their business with 100% control of their promotion. They can control their profits, modify their coupon at any time and, because there is no cost, at minimum show that they are willing to discount their services for the community.
At the Sonora Football game versus Aliso Niguel on September 21 and the La Habra Football game versus Fullerton on September 28, Aidtree will support a“Terrible Towel” giveaway to the first 500 home side supporters at each game. Both games will be at 7:00 pm. The address of the La Habra stadium is 801 Highlander Ave., La Habra. This giveaway will be a powerful visualization of the kind of support that each of these teams has and a preview of the kind of support they can expect from supporters on the Aidtree platform.
